Join the California State Society and enjoy several events throughout the year and an opportunity to spend time with and network with fellow Californians in Washington, D.C.
The California State Society is a non-profit, nonpartisan social and networking organization whose objective is to promote friendly relations among its members and to serve the interests of the nation and the State of California. Wonderful events and an opportunity to share them with your fellow Californians await you as a member of the CSS.
Our membership includes members of Congress, congressional staff, administration officials, Washington-based California business leaders and individuals with California ties. CSS members are comprised of hundreds of Californians living in Washington, D.C., and we are always encouraging new members to join.
The California State Society hosts around a dozen events a year. CSS members are invited to the Inauguration Party, Welcome Back to College, Ahhhscar Night, Cherry Blossom Celebration, Summer Picnic, Welcome Back to College, Holiday Party, Membership Events, and Golden State Roundtables. To attend CSS events, one must have a current membership.
The CSS’s membership is based on the calendar year, starting in January and ending in December.
CSS Membership provides free entrance to the majority of the events and activities. Current members also get discount tickets to the more extravagant black-tie events, such as the Inaugural Fashion Show. Members can purchase tickets for non-members that accompany them to events.

“DC is complex when it comes to social groups and networking. But it’s clear that when Californians get together, they stick together – it’s that California love! Having a network of Californians in D.C. can really make you see just how small the world is – in a good way.” ~Marissa Strickfaden
