The California State Society hosts a variety of events throughout the year for the benefit of CSS members. The CSS has built its name and reputation on its extravagant, elegant and fun events.  In order to attend the majority of events, one must be a current CSS member (the membership goes by calendar year, so January to December). Some of these events are free for members to attend and some require an entrance fee, with a reduced rate to current CSS members.

About CSS Events

Although events may slightly change from year to year, each year the Society holds about a half dozen to a dozen events. The Inauguration Party takes place once every four years to celebrate the Presidential Inauguration. Welcome Back to Congress is a reception that takes place every two years to celebrate the beginning of a new Congress and welcome any new California Members of Congress.

Ahhhscar Night is a huge party to celebrate California’s unique film legacy.  The Cherry Blossom Celebration recognizes the California Cherry Blossom Princess and the events of the week.  The Summer Picnic provides members the opportunity to get to know each other better at a relaxing picnic with great food and events.  Back to College Night showcases California’s education system by highlighting California universities, colleges and students.  The Holiday Party is a time to celebrate the end of the year and the upcoming holidays.

Membership events happen occasionally throughout the year and provided members with an opportunity to get to know each other better in a smaller group setting. Golden State Roundtables take place several times a year and provide a unique opportunity to hear from California experts and to discuss a wide range of issues.
